SECOND DAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1876First race to start at 12 o’clock. 1 — HURDLE RACE, of sovs., entrances added : welter weight for age ; over eight hurdles, 3ft. 6in. high; distance, two mile? 2— MAIDEN PLATE, of sovs., entrances added; weight for age; distance, one and a half miles ; for all maiden horses that have not won an advertised race previous to this meeting 3— TURANGA STAKES HANDICAP, of not less than 50 sovs., together with a sweepstakes of £2 2s, half forfeit ; entries to close on the 3rd February ; top weight, not to exceed 10 stone 11b., weights to be declared on acceptances on 12th y-* February at general entry ; distance, two miles 4— DISTRICT PLATE, of sovs., entrances added ; weight for age; for all maiden horses that have been in the district for at least six months previous to the races; winner of Maiden Plate to carry 71 bs. extra ; distance, one and a half miles. 5— CONSOLATION HANDICAP, of sovs., post entrance of £1 each added, for all beaten horses at this meeting; distance, one mile and a distance 6— FORCED HANDICAP, for all winners at this meeting, of sovs., with two and a half per. cent, of all winnings at this (compulsory for winners, optional for meeting added. Entrance, one guinea losers) added. Post entry; distance, one mile and a half CONDITIONS: First race each, day to start at 12 o’clock. Handicaps to be made by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint. Second horse to save stakes, except in Orlando Cup and hack races. No owner or nominator shall be qualified to enter a horse, in other than the Hacks, unless he be a subscriber of at least Two Guineas to the Race Fund. All entries, except Turanga Stakes Handicap, which are to be sent in at time, and as above specified, addressed as below, enclosing fee of 15 per cent on value of stakes, together with qualification, to be made in writing and forwarded to the Ron. Secretary, at Masonic Hotel, not later than 8 p.m. on the 12th February, 1876. All entries to include name, description, and age of horses, and colors of riders. Jockeys to ride in colors as described in entry, otherwise subject to a penalty of one pound. The winner of any match ran on the course to pay 10s to the race fund. Five per cent to be deducted from amount of winnings towards expenses, and towards stakes for Forced Handicap. All monies to be paid previous to starting.
