NOTICE TO CORRESPONDENTS.
OsrAR Bbyeb must entertain very peculiar views of journalism. He tells us in a characteristic letter of his, which appears in yesterday's issue of our eontemp >rary, that had we taken the trouble to read hi* epistle, published in the Standard of Saturday last, we would have seen that it "was not intended for publication.” This letter being, as it was, addre-s Id 'o he Editor, and not marked ‘private,” it w..s,of course, considered as a communication “intended for publication," and vie published it accordingly. On reference to our issue of last Wednesday, Mr. Beyer will see that our report of the proceedings in the R.M.’s Court of the previous day teas headed “ according to custom ” with the name of the presiding Magistrate; and we most sincerely join with him in trusting that, instead of troubling us upon such frivolous pretexts, he '■ wi.l know better lor the future.”
