But for walking in the Bois, for visits, or driving in one’s equipage; it is'faMiionable to weara small shoe matched to the toilette, as well as silk stockings of the same shade. The luxe of silk stockings is something unheard of. They are of all shades, from creamwhite to black, running through all the oolpurs of the rainbow. A dress of pearl-gray silk is made thus : —Skirt very much trimmed with flounces and pliss6s. The tablier falls in a square lappet upon the left side ; it is draped on the right side, and trimmed all round with a plisse and »-border of beaded blond. ■ A ladder of ribbon bows is put on over the seam upon the right side. A wide dcharpe, pleated at the top, falls loosely over tliq skirt a Jitfle upon tjie ( |eft side. Bodice with round basques, open en aosur ; coat-sleeves finished with two phases and beaded blond. There is a low bodice to wear in the evening, trimmed with biais and blond.
