It was expected that the English,mail, via San Frenc.sco, would arrive by the Rangalira, orrThursday last, and when it was found she had not brought it, some disappointment was - felt. It would appear (hut the Gisborne portion of the niail /was not sorted at* Auckland in time to allow it to be sent to Wellington by the steamer which left Mnnukau for theJStupire city, on the day on whkhthe Mikado arrivedatiAuckland with lhe toaii—hence the delay. At the request of the pilot'#- Capt. Evans proceeded with the pis. Manawatu early this morning for the purpose of towing her off. After about an hour and a half working unsuccessfully, the steamer left. IJowever, Captain Evans is confident of taking her September 11.
