AGRICULTURAL and PASTORAL SOCIETY.
The adjourned meeting of this society took place at the Makaraka Hotel on Wednesday last. Thera was a fair attendance, and the rules of the society, as prepared by the committee, were passed with few alterations. Some useful hints were discussed in a desultory conversation, and the following resolutions were carried Mr. Cowen moved “ That the Society invite by advertisement all owners of entires to parade their horses at Makaraka at an early date.” Seconded by Mr. Ferris. Mr. W. 8. Greene proposed that the parade take place in Gisborne. Seconded by Mr. Parsons. The amendment and motion were then put to the meeting, the motion being carried by a large majority. Mr. Caulton proposed that the parade take place on the 2nd October, from 12 to 3 o’clock. Seconded by Mr. Smith, and. carried. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the business.
