PORT OF POVERTY BAY ARRIVALS. . AUGUST. ' Nil DEPARTURES. AUGUST. 29—Agnes Donald, schooner, Capt. M’Cabe, for Auckland via the coast. Captain Hardwick, master of the cutter Whan, arrived in town yesterday, overland from the coast, and reports the stranding of his vessel near to Waipiro. The Whau left, this port for Mahia on Sunday, the 22nd August, with a fine westerly wind, but was unable to land her cargo ; she was eaught in the southerly gale thnt followed, during which her rudder was injured, and the vessel becoming unmanageable, she was ultimately beached. The cargo is a little injured; but the vessel herself can, it is stated, be got off without much difficulty.
