INSURE.
“ Insure ? not by a blamed sight,” the merchant eaid ; “ At least not while I’ve got brains in my head. I’ll waste on companies ‘ nary a red,’ Not with my money shall they bo fed.” Six months from that time the speaker was dead, With a wife and little ones round his bed ; And before twelvemonth more had sped, They wanted clothes, and they wanted bread, And a life of penury each one led, And many and bitter tears they shed, Because the merchant, in health, had said, “ I'll never insure with brains in my head.”
