POUT OF POVERTY BAY
Captain Thoma* Chrisp is notified in the General Gorermnent Gazette a* having been appointed Harbor Master for the Port of Poverty Bay. The Queen Bee, hence, with wool, was reported by the June mail to have been in Ihe English Channel on her way to London when the mail left. The Pretty Janeerrived in the bay yesterday morning from Napier at 9.20, just too late to eave the tide in ; she brings a small cargo. She will load a full cargo of stock on account of Mr. R. Kelly for| Auckland, aud will probably steam out this evening. Captain Chrisp reports the bar in every bad state, soundings only .gave 6 feet of water on it yesterday morning. The Rover, Captain Doughty, is ready for sea, and will sail the first opportunity, for Auckland via the coast. She has room for a little cargo and passengers.
