PORT OF POVERTY BAY TrtßGo*ft*head returned to the Bay on Sunday morning last, after having battled against a Nor- East gale for over 36 hours. She did not reach the East Cripe, and was compelled to run back for a * apply of coals, having shipped winch, she proceeded on her voyage in the afternoon. The Southern Cross also put into the Bay on Sunday afternoon, having been 26 hours out from Napier bound for Auckland with stock, which required rest from the «evere knocking a’»out th y experienced. She left about 4o’clock, taking the mails and passengers from th Go-a-hend. t h latter being, doubtless, very thankful for a kind deliverance N her the nor the Soul hern wer.telegraphed as having arrived at Auckland up to 5 o’clock last evening. Captain Harris has succeeded Captain Burke to the command of the schooner OjK>tiki. which vessel left this port for Napier o»» Monday evening last. The Rangutira was not reported as having left Wrhuigo i last evening.
