profit of the Company, from May 10, 1872, to be, after payment of three halfyearly dividends or 5 per cent, each, 9s lid. A dividend of 12j per cent, was declared. The directors are glad to report that the increase of capital sanctioned by you, promises to place the company in a position to extend its operations, and meet the daily increasing demand for safe and rapid communication with our out ports and the Pacific Islands. Messrs. Morrin, Wardrop, and Stevenson were unanimously appointed directors. It was resolved that the directors should in future receive honoraria for their services, and that of the Chairman should date back for the past three years.
