j/Bteam Launch.—Mr. W. Adair, the enterijPlsing successor to Captain Read, is setting to work in earnest to make up somewhat the requirements of the place. Amongst other things, we understand Mr. Adair has ordered a new steam launch to facilitate communication between vessels in the Bay and the shore. The vessel will be built, specially adapted to the peculiar capabilities of the river and the bar, as far as power and capacity are concerned ; she will be ifeout 30 tons burthen and, when inducement offers will run between Gisborne and Napier, and other places on the coast, so as to fill up a few of the gaps made by the non-arrival of what should be regular boats. Such a want is much felt at present, and we trust success will attend \Mr. Adair’s spirited enterprise.
