Ormond Coaches.—The time of arrival and departure of Bidgood’s coaches has been again altered to suit tho growing traffic. Church Services, Sunday 18th.— Ormond in the morning, at 11 o’clock, and in the evening at Trinity Church, Gisborne, at 7 o’clock, by tho Ven. Archdeacon Williams. Mhtawhero at 2.30 p.m., and at St. Andrew’s Church, Gisborne at 11 in the morning and 7 in the evening, by the Rev. W. H. Root. Sergeant Armstrong. — We are much pleased to learn that this most worthy and zealous officer has received a substantial recognition of his services at the hands of Sir Donald McLean, through tho representations of his Commanding Officer, Captain Gudgeon. The efficient state of the Cavalry Volunteers is such as to have called forth an encomium from t.he Defence Minister, who has testified his appreciation of merit by presenting Sergeant Armstrong with a donation of £lO, a gift, well earned, and most worthily bestowed. Chubch oi- England Bazaar.—We have been requested to state that the nett proceeds of the Bazaar and Concert, recently held in Gisborne in aid of the Church Building Fund, amounted, after deducting the moderate sum of £2O 7s for expenses, to the very appreciable sum of £l6O 3s 6d, which was handed to Bishop Williams, by the Ladies’ Committee, on Monday last. Tho Bishop warmly congratulated the ladies ou tho success their endeavors had achieved, and thought the church was greatly indebted to them for so handsome a presentation, a fact which wo cordially endorse.
