Wellington, April 8. J. H. Wallace at his monthly sale at the Hutt sold fat steers at £6 to £8 15s; store cattle, mixed lot yearlings to three years, £2 15s; cows, £3 to £6; horses, £3 5s to £lss ; five-tooth rams, 20s. A few old ewes were sold at 2s 6J per head. A lot of wethers were withdrawn at 8s 6d. Dunedin, April 7. The prospectus has been issued of the New Zealand Pottery Company. The Company is being formed with the view to purchase Tokotnairiro Pottery Works, now owned by William White, and conducting the manufacture of pottery and earthenware upon a scale large enough to supply New Zealand and Australian markets. The proposed capital is £30,000 in 12,000 shares of £2 10s each. The directory contains the names of the best men in the district.
