ROAD BOARD.
At the usual meeting on Monday last, the following business was transacted :—- A letter was read from the Deputy Superintendent, requesting that the chairman would certify that the immigrants’ houses had been erected in Gisborne in terms of specification. « A letter was also received from Messrs. Graham & Co., in reference to the removal of timber from the Pattitahi block. It was decided to summon the first six rate-payers on the roll for their arrears of road rates. Instructions wore sent to the actingpoundkeepor, bringing his attention to the lllh clause of the Impounding Act. Mr. Hume was instructed to erect a culvert across outlet drain at Ormond. The Board decided that it was not advisable to move the Superintendent to proclaim the Impounding Act, 1874, as in force.
