Dalziell has—so Hawke’s Bay papers tell us—taken his last fond look of Poverty Bay, and is about, to enter upon the occupation of the Masonic Hotel in Napier. Daboavillb Resigned.—A telegram came to hand on Thursday, announcing that Mr. Dargaville had withdrawn from the Superintendency in favor of Sir George Grey. Earthquake.—Exchanges inform us that the shock of earthquake felt in Gisborne last Sunday morning, was also experienced in Napier, Wellington, and Nelson, at about the same hour. Divine Services.—The Rev. W. H. Root, will hold Divine Service to-morrow, at Ormond at 11 a.m., Matawhero, at 2.30 p.m., St. Andrew’s Church, Gisborne, 7 p.m. Church ef England Service at 7 p.m. Boeing Machinery.—A telegram was re ceived from Mr. Parsons on Thursday last, to the effect that he had obtained the boring tools but not. in time sufficient to ship them by the Southern Cross; he at.d they will be here by the Go-a-head next week. Militia Notice.—A notice appears this morning which will be received with satisfaction. The Militia will be relieved from quarterly parade, and their arms to be given in to store, for this purpose parades are called throughout the district, commencing with No. 1 Company at Gisborne on Monday, March 22. The parade is solely for the purpose of receiving arms, therefore, any militiaman delivering them before the parade, need not attend on that day.
