Read the Whole of his Miscellaneous STOCK, consisting of General Drapery, Clothing, Hosiery, Millinery, Uederclothing, Boots, Saddles, Bridles, General Ironmongery, Groceries, Wines and Spirits, &c., AT A GREAT REDUCTION FOR CASH, Is determined to SELL IT ALL OFF at such Prices as will be sure to effect a SPEEDY CLEARANCE and make room For Large Shipments to Arrive. The Whole of the Stock is nearly new, ha.ving been purchased by G. E. Read in the Home Markets, through his London agent, for Cash ; the Public may therefore confidently rely on the benefit of such Purchases, and securing Goods at Prices Never Before Heard of in the Poverty Bay District ! ! ! Captain Read’s reputation for keeping the Largest Stock in Gisborne is so well known that any attempt to particularize and quote Prices for every article in Stock would be superfluous. The undersigned will merely rely on the discrimination of the public for a continuation of those favors so long enjoyed by his predecessor, and trusts that they will appreciate the effort on his i, part to make a favorable impression by selling Goods at the LOWEST POSSIBLE PRICES. Every article in the Drapery and Ironmongery will be reduced in Price, and the public are respectfully solicited to come and see for themselves that the Sale is GENUINE, the proprietor believing that such an opportunity never occurred before of buying GOODS AT SUCH RIDICULOUS PRICES. To parties about to Furnish, this will be a splendid opportunity, as the stock is large, and well-supplied with everything in the FURNISHING DEPARTMENT. Fancy Dresses, French Merinos, and Overskirts will be sold at Cost Price, to Clear. Underclothing and Baby Linen will also be very much reduced in price. Millinery aiid Straw Hats—■ Goods have been accumulating in this Department for want of space to show them, and the whole will be sold at Less than English Cost. Real Maltese and Honiton Lace Collars — A Large stock of these fashionable goods on hand, and immense reductions will be made. Muslin Ruffles and Collarettes— Will be sold regardless of Cost. Wincey Skirts and Skirtings— Thirty Dozen of Skirts just opened, commencing at 2s 6d each. Flannel and Crimean Shirtings— A case of these Goods just opened, and the whole will be offered at very low Prices. Blankets, Toilet Quilts,' - and Sheetings— A large quantity of the above in Stock, and will be sold at corresponding Low Prices. Men’s and Boys’ Clothing— Being heavily stocked in this department, the Goods will be offered at prices which only require to be seen to be appreciated. Crimean and Fancy Jean Shirts— Three cases of these Goods just taken into stock at a very low figure, and will consequent!}' be sold cheap. Mole Trousers and Pants— Two cases of the above just opened. Saddlery— Five cases, ex * Glenlora,’ Ladies’ and Gent’s Saddles, very superior shapes. Bridles— A very large quantity in stock, and the prices have been very much red need. Boots— Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s English and Colonial; also a large lot of Maids’ and Children’s will be offered at less than cost. Courier Bags and Leather Satchels— Must be sold at any price to clear. Ladies’ Cloth and Silk Jackets— About 20 Dozen of those goods must be sold at any price, to clear out this season. The MILLINERY and UNDERCLOTHING will be under the management of A sufficient guarantee that the Department will be kept wellsupplied with the LATEST NOVELTIES.
