DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING. MEMBERS of Militia and Volunteer Companies are informed that the firing for Infantry District Prizes will take place at the Gisborne and Ormond Rifle Ranges on TUESDAY, 9th February, 1875. Extra Prizes, for Militia only (fines), will be fired for on the following day. Members may fire at either range. Gisborne, 6 a.m.; Ormond, 9 a.m. W. E. GUDGEON, Sub-Inspector A.C. Commanding East Coast District. RACE BALL. Qp HE undersigned begs to INFORM the Ladies and Gentlemen of Poverty Bay that a BALL AND SUPPER, under direction of the Race Stewards, will be held in the Music Hall on FRIDAY EVENING, sth February. Tickets : £1 Is. each. Tickets can be obtained from the Stewards ; at the Standard and Herald offices, and at the Masonic Hotel. A Covered Vehicle will be in attendance in the town for conveying to the Hall those ladies and gentlemen who may leave their names at either the Standard or Herald office by 4 o’clock on the afternoon of the sth.
