Osmond Hotel. — The Livery Stables attached to Buchanan’s Hotel at Ormond Imre been taken by Messrs. Claridge and McMillan, who announce the same in these columns to-day. Armed Constabulary.—A force of 13 men arc on hoard the Luna en route for Awanui, where they are to be stationed. The detachment at Ormond will also be increased in strength shortly.

Parish Meeting. — Members of the Church of England are invited by the vestry to meet in the Court. House on Sunday evening next, after Divine Service, to consider matters of importance connected with the ehurch.

Dentistry.—Mr. Wilson wishes it to be notified I hat as his stay in Gisborne is limited Io the I’rctly Jane’s return to Napier on or about to-morrow, any one requiring his professional services will oblige by making early application at. his consulting rooms.

School Committee. —Notice is hereby given that a meeting of Householders and Ratepayers will be held in the school room at Ormond, on Monday evening, 25th January, for the pmpose of electing a District Committee for the rear.

New Jewellery.—A large and varied assortment of jewellery, plated ware and filigree goods is now on sale by Mr. Wall, of Napier, on the premises lately occupied by Mr. Rigg in the Gladstone Road. As the -ale will last fora few days only, an early visit is nccesearv.

Lincoln Rams.—Wo have been requested to call attention to the rare chance sheepbreeders in the district have of securing good blood for their flocks, without the risks attending importation. Mr. Melville Smith has just, arrived from England with a fine lot. of Lincoln rams which will arrive by the Pretty Jane, expected from Auckland tomorrow. Intending purchasers will do well to apply early at Messrs. Graham 4 Co's. Gisborne Dramatic Club.—At a general meeting of members of this Club held on Friday evening last, the following officers were elected :—President, Mr. Turner ; Vice President, Captain Porter; Stage Manager, Mr. Piesse ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. Butt; Wardrobe-Master, Mr. Steele. The Club are still hopeful of being able to surmount, the difficulties under which they labor just now, with respect to the acquisition of another lady performer, and purpose giving another performance in the course of a week or two.

Colledge’s Almanac. —We have been favored with a copy of Colledge and Co.’s Almanac und Diary for 1875, published at Napier. Being the first year of publication it is a very creditable production, bearing, as it does, evidences of the cure that has been bestowed on its compilation. Besides the usual almanac references, it embraces compendious 'Trade avid other Directories, an Electoral Roll for the current year, and Daily Memoranda. It is adorned with a Plan and bird's eye view of the town of Napier, and is well supplied with advertisements.

The Luna.—This vessel arrived in the Buy yesterday morning .from Napier and Wellington with’the Hori. the Colonial'Secretary on board. Major Heaphy and Colonel St. John were also passengers. During the day the party, joined by several gentlemen from town, took a drive into the country to shew Dr Pollen some of the chief places of interest. The hon. gentleman, we believe, has not previously visited Poverty Bay, anil now expresses himself highly gratified with the result of his short stay. Indeed we do not see how he could do otherwise.
