TO CORRESPONDENTS.

*’Poaka” wants to know if it be true that the nightingales reported to have arrived by the Pretty Jane are what are called “ Irish Nightingales.” He also wants to know what an Irish Nightingale is ; and if the “ Doves ” that came by the same opportunity are what are known as “sucking doves.” For the information of “ Poaka ” we way say that an Irish Nightingale is known in Ireland as a pig stuck fast under a gate, but we don’t know whether those by the Pretty Jane answer that description. The doves (pigeons ?) we believe do not “ suck.”
