Sire Horses. To Stand this Season at Kaiariki The Powerful Draught Entire “BISMARCK.” Bismarck, rising 4 years old, is a beautiful dark bay, by “ Northern Hero,” from a Cumberland Mare. He took two first prizes at the Auckland Agricultural Show as one-year-old and two-year-old. For quietness, step, shape and make, Bismarck is unsurpassed in the Province. Terms, £3; Two or more mares, the property of same owner, per agreement. Mares to be hobbled or otherwise at the option of the groom. All Feeslo be paid and mares removed after notice being given of their stinting. 2s 6d each mare per week will be charged if not then removed. The well-known Clydesdale Horse “AUCKLAND” WILL run with his mares at Makaraka on «nd after Ist October next. “ Auckland ” is by “ Major” out of a “ Lincoln ” mare. He won the first prize in 1869 as a yearling, beating two-year-old horses. In 1871, as a three-year-old, he also carried first prize, against aged horses. In 1872 he carried second prize, being beaten only by “ President,” one of three newly-imported horses. Terms £3 3s each mare. For two or more mares, the property of the same owner, as per agreement. For the full pedigree, see New Zealand Stud Book. He is thoroughly goodtempered, and perfectly sound, and a sure foal-getter. For many years past he has been well-known as one of the most successful horses on the turf, in the Auckland province, in anr race where speed and bottom were called into play.
