Church Tenders.—The tenders for the erection of a Church building for the Episcopalian body in Gisborne were opened on Tuesday last by the Committee. The prices.are as follow: —Forbes, £955; Lawrence & Co., £945; Stevens, £945; Ross, £933; Morgan, £BBO. There can be little doubt that Mr. Morgan’s tender will be accepted so soon as some members of the Committee, at present absent from Petroleum Company.—At a meeting of the Directors of this Company held on Wednesday evening Mr. Graham was elected as Chairman to the Board for the ensuing year. It was also resolved that a call be made of ss. per share, payable on or before the 2nd of September. This will make the fifth call the Directors have made. As there seems to be some misapprehension respecting the salary paid to the Secretary of the Petroleum Company, we have, in the interests of the shareholders, inquired into the matter, and find that the salary which the Secretary receives, and has been receiving since the 30th of May, is thirty shillings per week only.
