Road Board.—A pro forma meeting of the members of tho Road Board was Wd p-t the Court House buildings on Wednesday last, when A. F. Hardy Esq. was unanimously elected Chairman. The Board will meet for the despatch of business on Monday. |
Native School.—We learn that Mr. G. Goldsmith, Teacher at the Turanganui Native School, has received intimation from the Government, that his services will not be required after the 31st August, informing him, at the same time, that no fault either is, or can be, found with him.
Petroleum Company.—An Annual Meeting of Shareholders in this Company is advertised for Wednesday, the 12th August, in the Court House. The Transfer books are closed until Thursday, the 6th inst. At a meeting of the Directors on Wednesday last, Mr. Lambert was appointed auditor to act in conjunction with G. F, Harris, Esq., already appointed by the Shareholders. A letter was received from Messrs. Cameron and Co., of New York advising that the Boring Manager of tho Company—Mr. W. W. Parsons—left in the ship Splendid for Otago on the 19th of April last.
