METEOROLOGICAL.
July 18th to 24th. Very severe wintry weather has been experienced during the past week, consisting of hard frosts alternating with heavy southerly rain squalls. On Tuesday last the first of the season’s snow’ was observable on the low hills, since when, until yesterday, the temperature has been exceedingly low, and rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, has fallen intermittently.
