CORRESPONDENCE.
[Our columns are open for free discussion; but we do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions of our Correspondents.]
TO THB EDITOR.
Sib, —I take advantage of your known kindness to correspondents to inquire whether it is the intention of the gentlemen composing the Road Board, to make a public declaration of expenditure of the Board for the year just passed. Now, Sir, last year the Chairman made a statement of accounts at a public meeting, which was afterwards proved to be wrong ; would it not be much better if the Road Board could issue a statement of expenditure previous to the meeting of Ratepayers, now just about to be held, in order to give an opportunity of allowing discussion of expenditure ?—I am, &c., Town and Countby.
[advertisement.] TO Mr. G. E. DeMOIDREY. (Per favor of the Poverty Bay Standard.) Sir, —I see by advertisement that you give notice that poison will be laid on all lands in your occupation. I wish to know if.a portion of the Patutahi Block is included in the said lands ?—I am, &c., Enquirer.
