FPORT OF POVEUTT BAY K The Auckland Steam Packet Company sent I home an order by the last mail for a new screw kateamcr of about 500 tons, with compound Kngincs with all the latest improvements. The Steamer is to be brought out to New Zealand under steam, and is intended for the Fiji trade. The third new vessel belonging to this company will be launched on the 14th of May, and will be named the Waitangi, 1,220 tons register. .Messrs. Sims and Brown, shipbuilders,of Break water-road and Devon port, Auckland, are building at the latter yards a large three-mnsted I schooner, or barqnentine, for Messrs. Watt Brothers, of Napier, She is intended for the coasting trade, and will be about 300 tons builders’ measurement, or 160 tons register. The firm expect to have the vessel launched in August next. She is being strongly built and is well laid down. Her dimensions are — Length of keel, 114 feet.; beam, 23 feet; depth of hold, 11 feet 6 inches.
