COMMERCIAL.
Messrs. Robertson and Co., report several sales latelv. On Friday the stock in trade of Mr. Dalziell’s store business was submitted to auction, but found little favor on account of paucity of buyers. At the Land Side on Saturday there was a fair attendance, town sections fetched from £7 to £l6 10s each and Suburban Section No. 102 was knocked down at £2B. Subsequently an altercation arose between the auctioneer and a purchaser as to the validity of the sale of some of the sections owing to a misunderstanding as to the conditions of sale. The present aspect of the difference indicates a final appeal to the arbitrament of the law. A number of books 'cere sold afterwards realizing remarkably good prices. At the weekly horse sale, the prices ranged from £6 to £l2, but not much fnqui ry.
