Napier. Stock and Stations.—Under this head, the principal transactions of the month has been the sale of Mr. Brathwaite’s run, comprising 2,600 acres, to Mr. Maney, for the turn of £2b,000. Mr. M'Hardv’s share in the Apley estate has also been disposed of to Mr. J. N. illiams, at a considerable advance ■on the price paid for it a month or two ago. Mr. Miller reports having sold a few properties of 500 acres and upwards, and save that there are continued enquiries for estates ■of this class. Sheep are still in verv treat ■demand, at higher prices than have ruled for years past, owing mainly to the extent of new country which has been taken up recently, and for which stock is required. Wool.—Most of the season’s clip has now been shipped. The Queen of the North has 3.200 bales on board, and will take 500 more. She leaves next week. The Invererne will take the balance, probably 200 or 300 bales. Very little wool has been bought •on American account here, though there hare been some small operations in the South Island. A few small clips have been taken up at a ilimit of 10jd.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s telegram dated London, 21st March says: — “Wool, — The sales • closed firmly. They .comprised about 169,000 bales. Fire thousand hare been withdrawn during the past sales, and 75,000 have been taken for export. The next sales will commence on 28th April. The market is firmer for lambs, greasy, and cross-bred ♦arts.”

Auckland. Mb. Buckland reports fat cattle at 24s to 27s per 100 lbs. The sheep market on Thursday last was unusually full, und late p:ices were sustained. For Merino wethers, 2|d per lb ; longwools, 4 1 ; ewes, 3fd ; lambs, 12s to 17s each ; dairy cows, £1 10s to £9 8s ; dry cows, 30s to 80s.
