The Hawke's Pay Herald of the 10th says : “ The Hon. Donald M‘Lean left Auckland for Sydney in the A.S.N. Co.’s s.s. Rangatira on Saturday last. It is understood that he has gone there on Government business, I hough the precise object of his visit is not publicly known. The Hawke's Bay Herald of the 13th says : —A number of old Hawke’s Bay residents will embark on board the mail steamer Mongol this morning, en route for England, amongst them being Mr. and Mrs. Purvis Russell, of Waipukurau, Mrs. Brewer, Mr. Philip Dolbel, M.P.C. for Mokaha, and Mr. Melville Smith.
