° We shall sell to no man justice or right; We shall deny to no man justice or right: We shall defer to no man justice or right.”
Judging from the correspondence which has lately taken place on the subject of the proposed new Sheep Act, in the local journals, there will be a goodly muster of sheepfarmers at the meeting this afternoon, provided that the weather does not prevent inland settlers from attending. Mr. Johnson has gone to the expense and trouble of having the proposed Act printed, and we believe there are few who have not had it in their possession for some time. They will have had abundant opportunity to consider its provisions, and to make such suggestions as they may deem necessary with a view to a permanent emendation.of the Act itself, as it is to go to the Council. As Mr. Jobnson goes to Auckland early next month, this will be the settlers’ last chance ; and if they are unmindful of, or neglect, their own interests, and are not represented according to their own views, on the question of Sheep and Scab management, Mr. Johnson will hold them as claiming no right to call him to account for it.
