MARCH. 21—Pretty Jane, t.s.s., Palmer, for Auckland, via the coast, with 730 sheep Cartwright Brown. Passengers -.—Miss Hair, Messrs. Gapper, Mazey, McDermott, Brown, and 2 shepherds. TltE ship Schiehalion sailed from London on January 21st, for Napier, with a full complement of immigrants, and we learn that, in accordance with instructions, the AgentGeneral has made arrangements for the sailing of a vessel for that port every two months. We (H. Ii- Herald) learn that the light shown by the lighthouse on the Gaol Hill is visible at a distance of eighteen miles at sea, Several experienced nautical nu n have expressed their opinion that it is one of the best specimens of the fourth order of lighthouse lamps they have yet seen.
