PORT OF POVERTY BAY.
The FtenmerTeporteil to have been seen crowing the Rav yesterday is moat likely the Star of the South from Napi r to Auckland. The Pretty Jane had not arrived in Port at a late hour last night. She is on the berth to steam for Auckland to-day with a cargo of sheep. It is understood that Mr. R. S. Ledger has accepted temporarily the position of manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, vacant bv Mr. Hartmann’s acceptance of the office of manager, at Nelson, of Messrs. Edward and Co.’s line of steamers.
