WAIKANAE BRIDGE.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —In a local in this morning’s Herald I find something about the above, giving only the names of Morgan and Sheet tendering their willingness to carry out the work of building this bridge. It is usual in most places to publish the amount of all public tenders received, together with the names of the tenderers, for general information. Will you please obtain the entire list

of tenders, and leave a discerning public to sit in judgment on them.—l am, Ac., Enquirer. March 5, 1874. [We have no opportunity to enquire officially for the exact amount of the tenders for the Waikanae Bridge, but we believe the two sent in were in the neighbourhood of £l(X).— Ed. S.]
