PORT OF POVERTY BAY.
Thebe are no shipping arrivals to rep rt since < ur Inst. The Mariner, at present at the wharf, is to sail for Auckland to-day. Both the Waratah and Rover sailed on Saturday last for Aii'k a d, in ballast. Nothing is known of the Pretty Jane, but she may be looked for during the week. SMOKE, supposed to be from a passing steamer, was seen in the offing yesterday morning, It may have been the s.s. Paterson on her way to Auckland. The Opotiki has been windbound in the Big River for the last four or five days. She is a full ship, bound for Napier, and will come out at the first chance, calling at the port for passengers.
