London. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s Circular of the 28th November reports as follows : — Wool.—The fifth and last series of Colonial Wool Sales for 1873 commenced last night. The opening catalogue comprised the followproportions : —New South Wales and Queensland, 1,053 bales; Victoria, 649 ; New Zealand, 645 : Cape of Good Hope, 2.635 : total, 4,980 bales. The assortment of Australian and New Zealand was of uu indifferent character, but as far as can be judged no alteration in prices for the better qualities of these descriptions was manifested, but for inferior sorts a concession on previous rates was accepted. The total arrivals in time for the sale are as follow :—New South Wales and Queensland, 9,930 bales; Victoria, 2,956South Australia, 982; Western Australia. 429: Tasmania, 144; New Zealand, 4,260; Cape of Good Hope, 29,220 : total, 47,921 bales ; of which about 3,500 bales have gone direct to the manufacturing districts. To the arrivals must be added the estimated qunntit v of second-hand lots and wools held over from previous sales. These may be taken in round numbers at 10,000 bales. The total quant it v available for disposal is, therefore, slightly in excess of 54,000 bales. Corn Market.—Australian wheat, 67s to 68s per 4961b5.; New Zealand, 60.* to 66s per4J6lbs.; Australian flour, 45s to 48s 6d per 2801b5.; Now Zealand, 43s to 46s 6d per 2891b5. New Zealand Hemp.—The market continues in a very depressed state, and we see no prospect of improvement at present. On the sth above 100 bales were sold, chieflv damaged lots, the remainder being bought, in at £23 to £27 ; and 370 bales on 19th idem were all bought, in. In such a condition of the market, quotations would be but, nominal. Kauri Gum.—Extrafine pale selected, £6 7s 6d to £6 15s per wt.; fine bold pale, 75s to 121 s; bold hard scraped sorts, 50s to 65s ; fair ordinary scraped sorts, 33s to 41s ; chips 26s to 31s ; dust, 10s. Iroin the Australian and New Zealand Gazette we take the following quotations :— Ear Shells. —Of 7 cases 2 casks New Zealand green ear, 7 packages sold at 3d each.
