CHALLENGE.
We have been requested to publish the following copy of the THIRD letter sent by the Captain of the P.8.A1.R. Atolunteers, to the B.P. Cavalry, in answer to a challenge received from that Corps : — Gisborne, January 22, 1874. “ To Captain T. F. Connelly, ’ “ B.P. V. Cavalry, Gpotiki, “ Dear Sir, —To prevent any further mistakes respecting the challenge between yourselvesand the Troop that 1 have the honor to comniund I beg to enclose a copy of the letter posted by me to your address, and to add that we are quite willing to abide by the proposal contained in that letter, and trust that for the future the utmost good feeling will exist between the corps. —Yours, Ac., A. F. Hardy, Captain P. B. M. R. V.”
