Passengers—Mr. Walker and 1 Native. 17—Julius Vogel, schooner, 56 tons, Kennedy, master, for Auckland, via the •Coast, with 51 bales wool, 22 hides, 330 bags grass seed, 48 bags maize, and sundries.
The s.s. Star of the South is certainly overdue, but we can hardly think the A.S.P. Co. will leave us in the lurch if it can possibly be avoided. The Pretty Jane.— It is said on good authority by the (Jingo Guardian, that Mr. Lodder, who is at present in Dunedin, has purchased the Harbour Company s steamer Pretty Jane for the Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland trade. The Pretty Jane will run in •conjunction with a new steamer of large dimertNionis, lately purchased by the same owners •with the view of establishing a weekly communication between the above-named places.
