Feo and qualification to accompany entry. 4. Hack Race of—sovs., postentrances of 10s. each added; catch weights; distance : half mile heats. 5. Railway Stakes of-sovs., entrances added ; weights for age ; one milo and a distance. Second Day, 29tii January. 1. Hurdle Race of—sovs., entrances added ; weight for age ; over 7 Hights of hurdles of 3ft. Gin. high ; distance: about two miles. 2. Flying Stakes of—sovs., entrances added ; catch weights ; distance : half mile heats. 3. Ladies Purse of —sovs., entrances added; welter weightsfor age; professional riders 71b. extra; distance : two miles. 4. Consolation Handicap of —sovs., postentry of one pound each added, for all beaten horses at this meeting ; distance: one mile and a distance. 5. Forced Handicap of all winners at this meeting. 2| percent, deducted from winnings, with — sovs., added. Entrance compulsory of one guin a O’.'h; losing horses optional; peat entry; distance: one mile and a half. Handicaps to be made by the Stewards or whom they may appoint. Second horse to save stakes except in the Hack Race. No person shall be qualified to enter a horse in other than the “Haeks,” unless he is a subscriber to the Harn Fund of at least Two Guineas. All entries (excepting Turanga Stakes, which are to be sent in at time, and as above specified, addressed as below) enclosing fee of 15 percent, on value of stakes, together with qualification, to be made in writing, and forwarded to the Honorary Secretary, at the Argyll Hotel, Gisborne, not later than 8 p.m., 22nd January, 1874. Entry to include name, description, and age of horse, and colors of the riders. Jockies to ride in colors as described in entry, otherwise subject to a penalty of one pound. The winner of any match ran on ths course to pay Ten Shillings to the Race Fund. Five per cent, to be deducted from amount of winnings towards expenses. Money to be paid previous to starting.
