ROADS NORTH OF AUCKLAND. In the Auckland Provincial Council Mr. Okmiston asked the Provincial Secretary, whether the General Government have intimated their intention of handing over the vote of £IS,OCX), or any part thereof, for road s north of Auckland, to the administration of the province; and if so, whether it is the intention of the Provincial Government, to expend any part of the vote in opening up a line of road between Mun gapai on the East Coast and the Wairoa and Tangataroria ? Also to open and improve a road from Mangapai to Tokatoka on the Wairoa? Mr. Sheehan said it was not the intentionof the Government to allow the £lO,OOO to be rushed by any constituency. (Het?r.) They meant to adopt the same course as that pursued last year, and to leave its distrbution in the hands of the Council.
