18 —Rangatira, s.s., Captain Lloyd, for Napier. Passengers — Miss Dyett, Mrs. McGill, Messrs. J. W. Porter, Ackland, and Nasmith.

The Waratah finished discharging her cargo of timber at the upper wharf and dropped down the river on Monday last. Captain Bushell cleared at the Customs on the 17th.

The six new ships now building for Messrs. P. Henderson and Co., of Glasgow, for the New Zealand trade, are to be named respectively, Wellington, Canterbury, Auckland, Invercargill, Nelson, and Dunedin. We hear that the Paterson is not likely to call at this port, having secured a cargo of sheep at Napier for Auckland. The Rangatira met with severe weather on her passage from Napier. Captain Lloyd had to stand well out to the Eastward owing to the intense darkness and heavy sea. The Rangatira merely landed her live stock in Napier consisting of 90 prize ewes and rams transhipped from the Queen Bee at Wellington.
