Dunedin. It is rumored that the prospectus of a bank, of purely colonial proprietary, will be issued next week. If floated, the head office will be at Dunedin. Napier. The Jane, a steamer, from Auckland to Dunedin, put in for shelter. The Telegraph calls attention to the fact of the Resident Magistrate holding the appointment as Crown Lands Commissioner, and to his being ignorant of law (having no time to devote to the study of it), by which business is delayed.
