SEPTEMBER. 22— Merlin, schooner, Little, master, from Auckland with full general cargo. Passengers:— Mr. and Mrs. J. Buchanan, 5 children and servant. 23 — Rangatira, s.s. Captain Lloyd, from Wellington. Passengers—Mrs. Stott, Messrs. Helyer and Russell. DEPARTURES. SEPTEMBER. 23 — Rangatira, s.s., Lloyd, for Napier and Southern Porte. Passengers—Messrs. Blair, Hamlin, Matheson, and Captain Baldwin. 23— Effie Meikle for Auckland, via the Coast. The Rangatira did not touch at Napier owing to the swell preventing communication with the shore. She brought no Southern mail. The ship City of Auckland arrived at Auckland from London on the 15th inst. The third officer (Mr. Hewlett) fell from aloft and was drowned, and two adults and an infant died during the voyage.
