The statistics for 1872 are progressing slowly, but we have another batch referring to the general imports for that year, from which we learn that the total value of imports, on declared values of course, was £5,142,951, and the duty received thereon was £813,278, Os 6d. It will be interesting to compare this with the declared value of imports for the latter half of 1873 under the new tariff.
