SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.

PORT OF POVERTY BAY. High Wateb.

ARRIVALS. JULY. 3.—Rangatira, t.a., Captain Hepburn, from Napier, with cargo, and the following passengers :—Mr. and Mrs. Scott and family, Mrs. Ross and four children, Mrs. Dawson and three children, Mr. Anderson. DEPARTURES. JULY. 3. — Rangatira, s.s., Captain Hepburn, for Napier, with original cargo. Passengers.— Mrs. Stott, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Kirton. 3. —Herald, schooner, Moss, master, for Pelorus Sound.

A steamer, supposed to be the p.s. Comerang, was seen passing the Bay yesterday, steering South. The Columbia is detained in port, the bar being too shallow to take. There were five steamers, including the Rangatira, in Napier harbor when that vessel left on Wednesday last. Paterson, Wanganui, • and Luna were to leave for Wellington. Star of the South was to leave for Auckland with stock. The Rangatira took back to Napier all the cargo—about 15 tons —which she brought from that port. The lighterage of this port seems to be very defective; and the inconvenience arising from these interruptions to trade is so very great that it is a question which commercial men should seek to remedy at once.

July 5.—12.32 morning; 1. 8 evening. July 6.— 1.42 morning; 2.25 evening. July 7.— 2.47 morning; 3.19 evening. July 8. — 3.45 morning; 4.13 evening.
