"YXyIIEREAS under and by virtue of a certain * ’ Commission under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the 10th day of February, 1869, and directed to us, we did, on the 29th of June, 1869, under the authority of the said Commission, sit at Turanganui, in the Province of Auckland, and did make inquiry and adjudicate upon certain of the matters referred to us by the said Commission: And whereas certain other matters having reference to the said Commission, and to a certain deed bearing date the 18th day of December, 1868, whereby the loyal portion of the Aitangamahaki and Bongowhakaata Tribes, and the Hapu of Ngaitahupo ceded all their lands -within certain boundaries therein described to the Crown, yet remain to be inquired into and adjudicated upon : And whereas by a notification published in the New Zealand Government Gazette, No. 9, bearing date the 13th day of February, 1873, we did give notice that we would, under and by virtue of the powers vested in us by the said Commission, again sit for the purpose of proceeding with such inquiry and adjudication at Gisborne, at Turanganui, in the Province of Auckland, on the loth day of April. 1873, at which time and place all claimants and other persons referred to in the above recited Commission were directed to attend : and whereas, owing to pressure of public business in which we are now engaged, we shall be unable to attend for the purpose of such inquiry and adjudication at Gisborne aforesaid on the said 15th day of April, 1873 : Now we do hereby give notice that the sitting appointed to be held for the purposes aforesaid on the 15th day of April instant is hereby postponed. and that we will, under and by virtue of the powers vested in us by the said Commission, again sit for the purpose of proceeding with such inquiry and adjudication at Gisborne, at Turanganui, in the Province of Auckland aforesaid, on a future day, of which due notice will be given in the New Zealand Government Gazette, and all the claimants and other persons referred to in the above Commission are requested to attend at such time and place, which will be so duly notified. Boundaries described in the above-named Deed. Commencing at Paritu on the sea coast to the northward of the Mahia Peninsula; thence running straight to Te Reinga; thence along the Ruakituri River to its source in the watershed range dividing the East Coast from the Bay of Plenty ; thence along the summit of the said range,—that is to say, by Maungapohatu and Maungahaunui to Tutamoe; thence in the direction of the sea by Pukahikatoa, Arakihi, Wakaroa, and Rakuraku to the sea at Turanganui; thence along the sea coast to the commencing point at Paritu.

NOTICE. ANY PERSON found trespassing on, or cutting and removing wood from the Toanga an Waikanae Blocks, will be prosecuted. G. E. READ.
