RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Thursday, June 12. [Before W. K. Nesbitt, Esq., R.M.] ■James Moppet was fined 5s for being drunk in the streets of Gisborne. George Burnand appeared to answer to the following charges :—l. With being druuk and disorderly; 2. Assaulting and resisting the police; 3. Doing malicious injury to property.— Fined £1 ss. Hau. v. Groom.—Debt £2 14s 6d.—Judgment by default. Dalziell v. Donaldson.—Debt £2 10s.— J udgment by consent; amount to be paid in two months. , Wi Takahibangi v. Ihabaira.—Debt £3 18s. —Judgment for plaintiff; amount to be paid in three weeks. Williams ▼. Davis & Bidgood.—Claim £l4, damages for breach of contract in clearing and ploughing land.—Judgment for £7 and costs; amount to be paid in a week. There were four other cases. Courtenay and Young ▼. Simpson, which, as they possess some interest, we are compelled to let stand over till Wednesday next.
