June 4—Opotiki, schooner, Harris, from Napier, with general cargo The Opotiki is advertized to leave for Napier to-day at 3 p.m. 'The ».». Star of the South was announced to leave for Levuka about the Ist June. Captain F. Holmes proceeds home by the next Suez mail (leaving by the s.s. Hero), for the purpose of bringing out from. London to this port the new steamer built for Messrs. Watt Brothers, of Napier. Captain Andrew has been appointed successor to Captain Holmes in the command of the s.s. Star of the South.— Weekly Herald. We have been informed by the local agents of the p.s. Paterson that that vessel, nowon her way up from the South, may be expected to arrive at this port during the present week, but on what particular day is not yet known. After arrival ihere, she will meet with quick despatch for Poverty Bay, Tauranga, and Auckland. — Hawke'» Say Herald.
