April 27.—Paterson, p.s., Kennedy, from Auckland.—PasHcngi ra : Saloon — Miss Gull, Captain Read, Mr. Buchanan, Mr. Samuels, and 13 for the South. Steerage : 21 for Poverty Buy, and 15 for the South. DEPARTURES. April 27. —Paterson, p.s., Kennedy, for Nupicr, with original passengers and cargo. .Hie Eclipse, steam launch, has arrived in Auckland harbor. • The Comerang was advertized in Auckland to cam for the Buy of Islands on the 23rd instant. The s.s. Rangatira, and the p.s. Paterson, had very stormy passages to Auckland. The former of which had to burn her boats for fuel, having run short of coal. She may be expected at any hour. 'Pho following arc the advertized passengers by the Tawcru, now on her road from Auckland to this port: —Mrs. Lawrie, Mrs. Winter, Messrs. W. Buchanan, C. Ray er, D. McKay, Gurnie, Lynch, J. Cukill, B. Turner, and A. Jones. The Weekly News learns that, Captain F. Holmes, late of the s.s. Star of the South, has been appointed manager of the Auckland Steam Packet Company, in the room of Mr. 11. ■Cruig, resigned. Vessels expected at Auckland brom London. — Edinburgh Castle, ship, sailed January 24; Parsec, ship, sailed January 12; Countess of Kintoro, ship, sailed ; Woodlark, ship, sailed ; Hylton Castle, barque,sailed ; City of Auckland, ship, loading. The following report of the p.s. Paterson was obligingly furnished to us by the purser, Mr. Pringle, with full files :—The p.s. Paterson, Capt. Kennedy, left Auckland wharf on 23rd inst. ut 11.15 a.m., blowing a heavy south-east gale. At 5.52 p.m., wind and sea increasing, came to an anchor in Cabbage Bay. Got under weigh again next morning, but found the gale raging with redoubled violence. Brought up iu Jackson’s Bay, and remained there till nearly 6.30 p.m of the 25 th. Rounded Cape Colville; blowing heavy gale, high sea, with dense fog and ruin. Put into Mercury Island at 11.10 a.m. Found the schooners Excelsior, Atalanta, and cutter Clara, lying there weather-bound; the Atlanta sailed in the afternoon for Kennedy’s Bay. Made another start at 3 a.m. on 26th; still blowing hard, with thick fog, heavy rain, and vivid lightning. Went dead slow till 6 a.m. Battling winds, variable weather, and high beam sea. Arrived alongside Tauranga wharf at 3.30 p.m., discharged, and sailed at 4.40 p.m. Strong N.E. wind, heavy sea, aud threatening weather throughout the passage.
