April 7. -Rangatira, for Napier and Wellington. Passengers:—Mr. and Mrs. Parsons and child, Mr. and Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Johnson, Airs. Hamlin and child. Messrs. Gamer, Jacobs, Townley and Ascher. The Star of the South did not arrive at Napier ; until Saturday evening lust. The Comerang will be in to-morrow from the north, and is advertised for Napier direct. The Rangatira will arrive from the south about Sunday, and will proceed immediately to Auckland. The Luna, according to the Evening Pont, was to leave Wellington for Napier and Poverty ■Bay on the 4th instant. The Rangatira passed the English Mail •steamer Nebraska in Hawke’s Bay Sunday. The S.E. gale which detained the Star of the South on Friday, was felt all down the coast. The steamer Wellington was caught in it, which •enabled her to make the passage from Lyttelton -to Wellington in 13 hours. A heavy sea, in making Wellington heads, caused her to broach to and shift cargo, but without damage.
