Passenger: Mr. Cooper. March 31. —Comerang, Captain Chrisp, for Napier, with 10 bales wool. The Comerang will arrive this morning from Napier, and proceed direct to Auckland. She will not enter the river. We understand this st earner has been chartered by Messrs. Banks and McHardy, to run with stock between Napier and Auckland. The Rangatira is reported to be laid on between Poverty Bay, Napier Wellington, making weekly trips, for some little time. Captain Hepburn expects to make this port again next Sunday. Sunday was a day of unusual bustle in our quiet town, owing to the arrival of three steamers within a few hours of each other, and the departure of one of them again in the afternoon. But it was the least of them all that attracted the most attention. This was the launch Eclipse, recently imported by the Ship Forfarshire to Wellington. She is a trim, yatch-like boat, of about 12 tons, with fore-and-aft schooner rig. She has a double cylinder, high pressure engine, and tubular boiler working up to 10 knots in smooth water. She proceeds to Auckland the first favorable opportunity.
