Wintringham), 3rd; Steven’s Wallaby (Eaton), 4th. 7 Forced Handicap.—Marquis, list 41b, ridden by Downes, Ist; Hikutoto,9st 21b (Potter). 2nd • War Eagle, 9st 121 b (Noble), 3rd; Kingsman’ 7st 41b (Wmtnngham), 4th; Shamrock, list 81b, nddeu by Stevens, pulled up. Ravensfeather and Flycatcher were scratched. A race between Maori hacks followed. Seven started. It was won by Rauiha’s Darky. Consolation Handicap.—Rattling Raven, 9st 81b (Munn), Ist; Lochnivar, 9st 101 b (Stevens), 2nd; Ravenswing, lOst (Huntly), 3rd; Camilla 7st (Wintringham), 4th; Harkaway, Bst (Sutherland), sth ; Prospect, 9st, scratched. It was the best race of the meeting. A protest has been entered against Shamrock’s receiving the Maiden Stakes, until further enquiries shave been made as to his past winnings. 1
